As I do for most weddings, I started my day shooting the bridal prep at Laura's parents house in Derbyshire. Driving down the M1 it seemed like we had fast forwarded to July. The weather was fabulous, warm and sunny, and perfect for a wedding.
When I arrived, the house was full of laughter & excitement, as Laura and her bridesmaids were all getting their hair & makeup done - while the sun continued to shine outside. My job as a wedding photojournalist is to merely see & document the real moments during the day, and as Laura emerged from the bedroom, she looked amazing, as she walked downstairs to the cheers & smiles of the expectant family & bridesmaids below.
I arrived at Blyth church, where Tom was also looking the part in his RAF uniform. Just like the rest of the day, the service was filled with fun & laughter, due mainly to the vicar, Rev'd Kate Botley, (one of the stars of Gogglebox), performing her usual exuberant & fun ceremony.
Then on to Hodsock Priory for the reception, I've covered countless weddings at Hodsock Priory, so I know the venue & staff well, the grounds and reception room looked amazing as always. As I left in the evening, the dancing and partying, was certainly continuing hard into the night….
